We are so excited to be sharing our special day with you! Our wedding has a bit of a travel theme; not only because traveling the world is one of our favorite things, but because it symbolizes the life-long journey we now embark upon together. At this stage of our lives, we have far more "things" than we can possible use, and we hope that you will enjoy giving us the gift of "experiences" by participating in our exciting honeymoon to the Andalusia region of Spain.

NOTE: Several people have reported being unable to purchase items from our Registry. After speaking with the company that hosts our Registry, they say that's it's almost always because of security settings on the individual's computer, and they suggest the following troubleshooting steps:

- First, make sure that your pop up blockers are disabled and that your Internet security is not set higher than medium.

- Second, open up Internet Explorer > Go to Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level. Your level should be medium or lower.

- Third, make sure that your Privacy is no higher than medium. Go to Tools > Internet Options > Privacy. Your level should be medium or lower.

We'll stroll around the city’s old yet animated center, seeing lively cafés and bars scattered around Renaissance monuments like Granada Cathedral and Moorish landmarks like Alcaicería – the city’s old silk market. We'll walk to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Albaicin and soak up unforgettable views of the rose-tinged Alhambra palace complex on the adjacent hill.

Perched high on the hill overlooking the city, the incredible Alhambra palace complex was first built as a fortress at the start of the 13th century. Successions of Spanish rulers made Alhambra their home, and the fortress grew into a medina (little hilltop city) with numerous palaces and lavish gardens.

Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Alhambra is a treasure trove of Moorish architecture and we’ll see several of its wonders as we tour its highlights. This tour will allow us to skip past the long entrance lines with our priority access ticket and walk around inside with our guide.

We'll visit the 3 most important highlights of central Seville: the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the Giralda tower and the Royal Alcazar.

The Cathedral of Santa Maria is the biggest in Spain and is where Christopher Columbus is buried and his tomb is always of great interest to visitors.



The Giralda tower is an ancient Arabic minaret and symbol of the city, dominating the city skyline. This magnificent structure has been used a inspiration for similar architecture in Rabat and Marrakech.

An Arabic palace from the 14th century, the Royal Alcazar was originally a Moorish fortress. Nowadays the Alcazar is residence of the Spanish kings.

We will end the tour with a pleasant stroll through Santa Cruz, Seville's historical Jewish quarter. With narrow cobbled streets winding among white washed buildings, this is the most picturesque area of the city.

Flamenco has come to represent Spain as a whole, even though the vibrant art originated from Andalusia where Jerez has been acknowledged for being the city where it all began. With this in mind there would be no better place to be for the 18th annual Festival de Jerez, which has become the largest of its kind. The Festival de Jerez attracts some of the most famous flamenco artists in Spain. Performers and students also come from around the world to take part in specialized workshops and classes taught by some of the best flamenco instructors. The competition is fierce and many students try to claim one of the 1,000 student invitations to have the opportunity to learn from the masters. During the days of the festival, the city will be alive with stomps of tacones (heels), clacks of castanets, clapping of hands and passionate Flamenco music!

The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art (in Spanish, Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre) is an institution in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, devoted to conserving the ancestral abilities of the Andalusian horse, maintaining the classical traditions of Spanish baroque horsemanship, preparing horses and riders for international dressage competitions. The School is known all over the world thanks to its show entitled "How the Andalusian Horses Dance", a unique exhibition of horsemanship which both exhibits and summarizes the work which the institution has carried out since its establishment.

Celebrate the biggest Carnaval in Spain

This riotous, raucous, annual ten-day celebration of music and humour is what Cadiz looks forward to all year. It's the biggest carnival on mainland Spain and all of Europe. Dating back to the 16th century, it was the only carnival which Franco couldn't ban.

There are processions, concerts, comedians, children's shows (puppet theatre) and fireworks, as well as plenty of spontaneous singing in the street.



The weekend madness begins when people arrive on Saturday, from all over Andalucia and further afield, dressed up and armed with liquid refreshment, to join in. The party starts on the train, as groups of chickens, smurfs, nuns, and schoolgirls with swinging pigtails sing heartily in preparation for the festivities, kicking off their own Carnaval celebrations before they've even arrived. Thousands of people in fancy dress throng the centre of old Cadiz all Saturday night, many not even going to bed, till they stagger back onto their buses and trains on Sunday morning to head home. Some even return the following night to do the same again - the kind of serious professional party animals at which Andalucia excels - definitely not for the faint-hearted!
