Reception

We are planning two receptions; one in Brussels on May 19th and another in August in Tacoma. The May reception will be an outdoor "walking dinner." This was recommended by my darling sister-in-law, Els, who is so gracious to open her house and garden for this occasion.  She is pictured here with her partners in entertainment bliss, Anne, Lutgart, our daughter Marloes and the master chef, Polly in the kitchen.  There is nothing we love more than good food and good friends gathering. Our dear friend/sister Ruby is coordinating our Tacoma reception and we know it will be fabulous!

This is how the Brussels ceremony is currently planned (because knowing us, hardly anything is planned for Tacoma in August, we're still not decided on a location):

11h30: wedding ceremony at Sint-Genesius-Rode

16h00: garden party at Els & Polly's residence, Sint-Genesius-Rode

The wedding ceremony takes place at the townhall of Sint-Genesius-Rode, Belgium on May 19th at 11h30.  The wedding will be officiated by our sister Anne Sobrie, alderwoman of this town close to Brussels.  We chose for our lovely daughter Marloes and niece Patricia to be our witnesses.  For those who are interested in attending the ceremony, be aware that the wedding party only starts at 16h at our sister's Els and brother in law's residence in the same town.  That is because the townhall doesn't accept weddings after 11h30, and we weren't interested in organizing a lunch party!  We will be having a short celebration honoring our mother, Celine Vandeweyer, who resides in a nursing home in the same town, but of course we don't want to overwhelm the nursing home with too many visitors.   We are still organizing the hours in between.

The wedding party at our sister's residence will start as a reception at 16h (Bosstraat 158a) with a reception during which our sister in law Lutgart is so gracious to"officiate" a short religious blessing to us!  As you see, we are so lucky that our wedding is truely a family affair!  The reception will be uninteruptedly followed by a walking dinner.   We planned a garden party but we'll have a tent attached to the house.  Of course we can't count on the Belgian weather (please dress accordingly), but there's plenty of space inside the home too.  We'll have  a DJ, and furtheron we don't really have plans: we're sure your good company will make it a memorable evening.
