We planned our first big trip to Kauai in February 2015.  I secretly planned our proposal prior to this trip.  I had it all planned out!  I was going to ask Antonia to marry me around sunrise or so, on the morning of February 14th, Valentines Day. This was the day after we arrived in Hawaii!  I arranged before to have lei's sent to our friend Naad's house (who we stayed with on Kauai). The lei represented the "Ring" as I felt it very important that Antonia pick out her "Ring".  I also got a smaller lei for myself because, well I figured we both are getting married so why not!?

I told her we were getting up pretty early, I tried to not get too attached to actually proposing exactly at Sunrise!! staying calm no matter what, "Check!" My friend Naad helped with a beach. 

Off we drove and I found the beach.  We parked, however, I had never driven the "key-less" car before, so couldn't LOCK the car!!!  FINALLY, we figured it out!  But....... Antonia said "I'm not comfortable leaving the car now"  ...... as we were avoiding this guy who just watched us trying to lock up our car.   OK thinking to myself, stay extra calm as we now are moving to another place not in the plan!!!  insert very calm face here  ;)

Down the road we went as the sun continued to rise.  We found a "Fruit Shack", a lovely place to get something to eat/drink.  Now, I had no idea where to take her, but I had the lei ready, as well as "Our" journal which had my well thought out, sweet and beautiful proposal ALL ready!!!

Antonia then got out the map and said "Let's drive down this road"  OK~ I said, insert Still being calm face here

As we drove through this very green, lush, lovely scenery, I saw the MOST GORGEOUS RAINBOW!!!  "LOOK!!" I said to Antonia.  We marveled at the sight.  In my mind, I began wondering, "should I just stop and ask?", driving around another corner,.......  My plan was to ask her at the beach,....Still the Rainbow Shined On!!!...... drove around another corner...... yes you guessed it, Rainbow Shined On!!   I came around this corner and two fields of green lusciousness and at the last minute I pulled over to the side of the road.  

I said "We are getting out of the car" ......  She waited as I got out the Lei and my journal that I hid in the trunk. YES the RAINBOW SHINED ON as I got down on one knee and proposed to the Love of my Life, Mi Sacred Amore, Sacred Yemeya, Sacred Pele, Sacred Womyn!! 

Then we went to the end of that road and found a VERY secluded beach, where we swam and kissed as engaged partners! Picture above.

Did it turn out like I planned???  no,  BETTER than I could have EVER planned!!!  Gratitude Pele, Spirit for the Blessing of the Rainbow that stayed up beyond time!!
